Privacy notice
This notice explains how AMP Recruit Ltd uses personal data. We are a specialist permanent recruitment agency placing site-based and civils professionals with UK water infrastructure contractors. We try to keep this notice short and in plain English.
1. Who we are
AMP Recruit Ltd is the data controller. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17488174. Our registered office is 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA.

2. Whose data we use
- Candidates: people we speak to about roles, or who send us a CV.
- Client contacts: hiring managers, internal recruiters and other people at the companies we work with.
- Referees: people named by candidates to give a reference.
- Website visitors and enquirers: people who contact us through this website.
3. What we collect
- Name, email address, phone number and location.
- CV details: work history, job titles, employers, skills, tickets and qualifications (for example CSCS, SMSTS or SSSTS).
- Salary, notice period, availability and role preferences.
- Notes from our conversations with you, and the results of reference and qualification checks.
- For client contacts: name, job title, company, and business contact details.
- Messages you send us through the website or by email.
We do not ask for special category data (such as health or ethnicity) unless it is needed for a role and you tell us to include it. Please do not include it in your CV.
4. Where we get it
- Directly from you, by email, phone, message or through this website.
- From professional networking sites such as LinkedIn, and other publicly available business sources.
- From referees, and from clients who share details of a contact or enquiry.
5. Why we use it, and our legal basis

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
6. Who we share it with
- Clients we are placing you with, but only after you have agreed to us sending your details for that role.
- Referees, when we check a reference.
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as email and file storage providers, customer or candidate management tools, website hosting, and the service that handles our website forms. They only act on our instructions.
- Professional advisers (for example our accountants, insurers and legal advisers) where needed.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell personal data.
7. Transfers outside the UK
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside the UK. When that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's approved transfer mechanisms or an adequacy decision.
8. How long we keep it
- Candidates we have not placed: up to 24 months after our last meaningful contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Placement and client records: up to six years, to meet legal, tax and dispute-handling needs.
- Website enquiries: up to 12 months, unless the enquiry leads to a working relationship.
After these periods we delete or anonymise the data.
9. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it, including for marketing;
- ask for your data in a portable format, where it applies; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
Email hello@amprecruit.co.uk and we will reply within one month. You can stop marketing emails at any time by replying “unsubscribe”.
10. Cookies and this website
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may keep basic technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and to keep the site running. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when the page loads. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this notice and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
11. Keeping data safe
We use sensible security measures to protect personal data, including password-protected accounts, limited access and secure storage. No online system is completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information by email unless it is needed.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
13. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
